The song was written for my lifelong friend's father, who asked me to compose a song about the divorce he went through a few years ago. He hoped it would act as catharsis, a sort of therapy for the scar left by divorce. Rather than writing a song about the tragedy of a lost family, or the pain of divorce, drowning in booze, I chose to tell a story about coming from of this adversity.

The lyrics speak to a phoenix rising from the ashes, with limitless potential. The art, by Kaila Rose Parish, is supplemental to this idea. The song is a call to action for the listener to recognize that limitless potential exists, so long as you're ready to acknowledge it.

About You makes music for the head, heart & hips.

at what he had - something his hands couldn't hold.
But to touch was a days worth of emotions.
